After spending many years overweight, depressed, in unsatisfying jobs, emotionally abusive relationships, and with thoughts that would not have me here today writing to you, I knew SOMETHING needed to change. It didn’t happen over night, but I knew how I was experiencing my life didn’t feel good.
We all have choices. The choices we make create our life and internal power comes from taking responsibility for those choices.
Something doesn’t feel right? Not happy? Where do you begin? Focus on what you want in your life you will attract more of that.
I know its hard in challenging times to get to that happy place and to vision what you want different. Typically because we are usually focusing on the problem – lack (job, money), what is missing (relationship, love), what is wrong (few extra pounds, can’t pay the bills), what you don’t like (duds you’ve dated, where you’re living) or you get caught up in blame, anger, and fear (typically from past stuff)… UGH!!!
Can you see some good in where you are? Probably not, I know! But give this a whirl. Perhaps you’re jobless, but now have more time with your family. Single, but more time to get to know you. Broke, but finding new ways to spend your time and energy. Didn’t get that promotion, but in a year that position in eliminated. Carrying a few extra pounds, but healthy otherwise. Whose standards are you trying to live up to anyway?
You see, the Law of attraction says you get more of what you focus on. Your thoughts create things. They are YOUR choice.
So, today I dare you to begin now with purposefully creating something for yourself. What do you want to shift in your life? Below are 8 Strategies for Everlasting Happiness.
I promise with baby steps you’ll feel lighter, be happier, and begin to realize what really matters.
Energy flows where attention goes.
1. Accept what you cannot change.
Focusing on the problem keeps your mind closed to the possible solutions.
2. Surround yourself with those whose attitudes you admire.
Although challenging – let got of the relationships that don’t inspire you.
3. Let the past be in the past.
Learn from it and decide what you want to be different. (refer to #1)
4. Take care of your body.
Feed it good stuff. Food creates your body, blood, muscles. Feed your brain (which is 60% fat) healthy fats. Happy Brain = Happy Thoughts
Move it – exercise releases good feeling hormones
Self care – rest, take time out, slow down, connect with your body
5. Wake up every morning and list 3 things you’re grateful for.
Like… your body, your comfy bed, pets, home, family, friends, sight, hearing…
6. Shut off the news.
Read uplifting, inspirational books and articles daily
7. Create intentions.
Decide how you want your day, meetings, conversations, relationships, interactions, etc to go. Do this at the beginning of the day and before each action
8. Love and accept yourself exactly where you are
Life is ever changing. Don’t let changes get you down, look for the good – its always there in every situation.
