Be your own best friend

Love is…having love and compassion for yourself.

You’re a strong woman, a warrior, you can do anything! Sometimes that might mean plowing through transformation and emotions that come along with these types of change.

Who has time to slow down and have feelings? You’ve got things to do!

Well, the energy behind those feelings and emotions are asking for some attention at this time. You might even find yourself angry for feeling the way you are! Rather than carry on and plow forward I encourage you to take some time out for just YOU. Yeah, that’s right “me time” for you.

While going through transition, change, a breakup, new career, job loss – whatever it is there is emotions involved and when we try to suppress them they come out in ways we least expect. Then we find ourselves going outside ourselves to seek the Love we desire to avoid the real feelings we’re experiencing within.

You need to experience the Love within yourself before you can exchange it with another.

Begin by managing your energy and feelings proactively and with compassion for yourself. Its a beautiful thing to be able to tap into the depths of ones self.

* take 10 minutes out of your day and just check in “how am I feeling?” (give your emotions and feelings attention),
* nurture yourself with a warm Epsom salt bath,
* cozy up on the couch with a blanket and journal – just begin to write and see what comes up.

And if emotions begin to come forth – allow them without judgement. Its just energy desiring to be expressed. And if you still find any of this tough, think of yourself as your best friend. What would you say to her to help her through her own tough time?
